How to manually install & uninstall the ConcealBrowse extension

Description

The ConcealBrowse extension can be found in the Conceal dashboard and is available for Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Brave. This guide will outline how to manually install the extension.

Applies to

  • Google Chrome version 101+
  • Microsoft Edge version 77+
  • Mozilla Firefox 113.0+ 
  • Brave browser 
  • Microsoft Windows 10+ 

Procedure

  1. You will first receive an email from support@conceal.io providing you with a temporary password. This article assumes you have followed the instructions to set up your credentials and you have limited access to our dashboard. 
    - If your password has expired, follow this article on How do I reset my Conceal password?
  2. In one of the supported browsers listed above, navigate to the Conceal dashboard at https://dashboard.conceal.io
  3. Upon login, in the upper right-hand corner select DOWNLOAD EXTENSION

  4. Select the browser where you'd like install the extension.

  5. This will take you directly to the browser's store where the extension is hosted and you can add the extension. (Image below is Google Chrome)

  6. You should now see the ConcealBrowse extension in your extensions list. You will need to log into your Conceal Extension with the same credentials you used to get into the dashboard to be protected, or you will get a message that you need to login.

  7. Repeat the steps on all browsers you'd like to install the extension on.

Disabling and Removing the extension

We recommend disabling the extension before removing to allow for an easier re-enable as opposed to re-installing

  1. In the browser you want to remove or disable the extension, go to Manage Extensions.
    - chrome://extensions/ (Chrome)
    - edge://extensions (Edge)
    - about:addons (Firefox)
  2. Disable (Recommended): Locate the ConcealBrowse extension -> switch the toggle in the "Off" position
  3. Remove: Locate the ConcealBrowse extension -> click Remove -> confirm removal.
